Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your native land and the persecution you have gone through in your new home simply for being who you are. It is an unfortunate thing but people are labeled by the actions of a few who are ‘like’ them in some way be it racial, ethnic, religious or what have you.

I look forward to the day that I, as an American of western European descent, can travel to Iran & see first hand the beautiful country. Over the past couple of years, and especially the last couple of weeks, I have gained a great respect for & interest in the Persian people.

Salam Dadash,

I am 35 years old and am born and raised outside of Iran. The first time that I ever went to Iran was in 98 and ever since I have fallen in love with my country. Before 98 I always thought that we Iranians are like the ones that are shown on TV, chanting “Death to America” and burning flags.

I can relate to soo much that you have written in your article about living in the West.
