Is an element within Iran’s military confronting the regime?
The website Gooya.com posted a letter purported to be from eight regiments of the Iranian army. Enduring America writes: The letter, signed by eight far-from-insignificant regiments, declares that they are loyal but cannot stand aside if the oppression and violation of the people continues. This oppression is a “betrayal”, and so the Army will defend [...]
Why the Green Movement will Prevail

Eyewitness Account of the Conditions in Evin and How Amir Javadifar Died
When we arrived, we were body searched and were beaten again at the court yard of the precinct. First they put us in a cage and insulted us in obscene language. Police officers in the precinct were not in charge. Plain clothes forces were beating us with baton through the bars and were laughing at us. The cage was small and we could not move. Then we were taken to another part of the precinct and from there they took us to the basement. We had to keep our heads low during the movements while they were beating us at the back of our heads. Once in the basement, our Ids were taken.”
The Calm Before the Storm
As the Machiavellian plots continue to unfold in the power structures of Iran, one thing remains certain: the quiet that we are experiencing right now from the people does not mean that they have been silenced. Far from it, this is the quiet before the storm. The Green Movement is alive and well and in waiting for the next opportunity to put a stick in the eye of this regime.
Letter from Iran: Eye-witness Account of Uprising in Iran on 40th Day after Neda was Killed
The security forces were using batons, chains, whips, tasers, paint-ball guns, and I saw handguns in the hands of three of them. There was a rumor that a few were shot at in Vanak Square. Two people were picked up near us and people tried to chase after the security forces to get the young men back, but it was a futile chase. Until around 11pm the streets were full of people. At 10pm the shouts of Allah-o Akbar and Death to the Dictator were being screamed from the rooftops all over the city until 10.30pm.
